BLOOD TIES receives Emmy in New York
SIC's telenovela Laços de Sangue, a co-produced by SP Televisão and Globo, won the Emmy for Best Telenovela of 2011, in New York.
Laços de Sangue, which brought together names such as Diana Chaves, Diogo Morgado, Joana Santos, Lia Gama, Custódia Gallego and João Ricardo on the small screen, was nominated for the Best International Telenovela category and beat competitors as Araguaia (Brazil), also a Globo production, Contra las Cuerdas (Argentina), and Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Impostor (Philippines).
Written by Pedro Lopes (SP Televisão) and coordinated by Aguinaldo Silva (Globo), the telenovela tells the story of two sisters (Diana Chaves and Joana Santos) who were separated in their childhood after a tragic accident, meeting up again some years later, getting involved in a love triangle, marked by the plans for revenge of the sister who, as a child, ended up being adopted and estranged from her biological family.
