HEART AND SOUL wins Gold Medal
SIC and SP Televisão won the gold medal in the telenovela category at the World Media Festival awards, in Hamburg, Germany, with the telenovela Heart and Soul. Hugo Xavier, director of the project, and Manuel Moura Marques, scriptwriter, were on hand to receive the medal.
For the third year running, the telenovelas produced by SP Televisão and broadcast by SIC have won awards at this festival, which has 785 entries from over 30 countries. In the past, Frozen Memories (2018) and Salty Sea (2017) also won the gold medal, reinforcing the international recognition of SIC and SP Televisão's fiction.
Still showing on SIC's prime time, Heart and Soul is a story about the struggle of good against evil, in a realistic world, but with a fantastic side. The telenovela, written by Pedro Lopes, has a top cast: Cláudia Vieira, Soraia Chaves, Madalena Almeida, José Fidalgo, Ricardo Pereira and Afonso Pimentel in the main characters of this plot.
This is the 20th edition of the World Media Festival, which honours and celebrates excellence in content production on the most diverse platforms, whether television, internet or paper, on an international scale. An important recognition that once again places SIC and SP Televisão's fiction among the best in the world.
