CODEX 632 premieres in prime time on RTP

Yesterday, October 2, the series Codex 632 premiered, the first co-production between RTP and Globoplay, produced by SPi. Until November 6, you can watch a new episode every Monday at 9pm on RTP1, with a preview on RTP Play from 12pm.

Based on the best-seller book of the same name by José Rodrigues dos Santos, the six-part series, written by Pedro Lopes, Inês Gomes, Alexandre Castro and Sandra Santos, and directed by Sérgio Graciano, stars Paulo Pires (Tomás de Noronha) and Deborah Secco (Constança de Noronha), and also features Betty Faria (Luísa Toscano), Alexandre Borges (Nelson Moliarti), Ana Sofia Martins (Victória), Leonor Belo (Margarida de Noronha), Marcello Urgeghe (John Savigliano), Miguel Nunes (Rodrigo), among others.

The book's author, José Rodrigues dos Santos, after watching the first episode, told Público newspaper that he was "pleasantly surprised, because there has been a great evolution in Portuguese fiction."

Pedro Lopes told the same newspaper that the aim was "to make a series that was deeply Portuguese, but also Brazilian, and that could reach different audiences, those who like puzzles, those who like action and those who like complex characters."

The book that gave rise to the series was published in 2005 and has sold more than 200,000 copies worldwide.

Codex 632 premieres on October 19 on Globoplay in Portugal and Brazil.
