MOTEL VALKIRIAS, SPi's new international series

MOTEL VALKIRIAS, an 8-episode series co-produced by SPi and CTV, from Galicia, for RTP, was presented Thursday, the 16th, at Cinema S. Jorge to an audience of over a hundred people, with the presence of the main executives of the companies involved in the production of this series - RTP, TV Galicia, SPi, CTV and HBO MAX, as well as the artists that compose the cast, directors, producers, technical staff and film students.

In a very well attended session presented by Silvia Alberto, RTP Programs Director José Fragoso announced that the public channel will maintain the continuous presentation of fiction series, between 10 and 12 annually, counting on Portuguese producers for that. At the same time, he expressed the wish that the series ensure more and more quality and that they can be shown internationally.

Montse Besada, Director of Content of TV Galicia, highlighted the longevity of the RTP - TV Galicia partnership, stating that they work "as a family" and that the goal is to continue. For Patrícia Reis, Vice President of Brand and Marketing at HBO MAX, recalled the connection to RTP since the platform first arrived in Portugal, expressing the desire to increase the distribution of content in Portuguese that has been very successful on the platform, stating that HBO is the international platform with the most content in Portuguese.

Manuel Claro, SPi's Business and Coproductions Director, after thanking the main people involved in the production of the series MOTEL VALKIRIAS, as well as the RTP team that organized the presentation, highlighted the decisive nature of partnerships such as the one that made the series possible. "We still lack the temporal distance to have a real notion of the impact that this strategy had, has and will certainly continue to have on the national audiovisual, in its empowerment, in the internationalization of our stories, our authors, our actors, our technicians and other professionals and certainly of our business fabric of independent production in Portugal," he said.

The three main actresses, Maria João Bastos, Marina Mota and Maria Mera were unanimous in distinguishing the excellent teamwork and exchange of experiences between the teams from Portugal and Galicia.

MOTEL VALKIRIAS premieres on February 27th in prime time on RTP 1. On March 6th, also in prime time, on TV Galicia and on March 1st it will be available on HBO MAX.

The series, a thrilling thriller, will grab the viewer from the very first minute.
