Lisbon hosts Semi-final of the International Emmy Awards 2024
The International Emmy Awards are considered to be the most important television awards in the world, and every year they recognize the best projects produced and broadcast outside the United States of America.
Last Friday, for the tenth time, Lisbon was the main stage for the semi-final voting for the 52nd edition of the International Emmy Awards.
Voting for the Non-Scripted Entertainment category took place in the Archive Room of the Paços do Concelho.
The voting for this category was attended by the main representatives of the three Portuguese generalist television channels and leading industry figures, with the aim of distinguishing the best unscripted entertainment programs, including reality-shows, game-shows and other formats, shown worldwide.
Pedro Lopes, General Director of Content at SP Televisão and a member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, was part of this prestigious panel of judges and included a “significant group of Portuguese professionals from the national television scene”, explains the organization.
The winner of the Non-Scripted Entertainment category, as well as the winners of the other categories in the competition, will be announced at the official ceremony on November 25, 2024, at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York.
The second moment was marked by a gala dinner held at the Museu da Carris, where various personalities from the national television industry paraded down the glamorous red carpet, bringing together members of the management and faces of the national television channels.
Catarina Furtado, Gilmário Vemba, Cláudia Vieira, Ricardo Pereira, Maria Cerqueira Gomes and Pedro Teixeira hosted the event.
