Pedro Lopes guest of Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival
The Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival, which takes place in Porto from 22 to 30 November, is the cinema festival of the real, where, in addition to the usual competitions (International, Spoken Word, New Cinema and Transmission), which seek to showcase the most exciting contemporary cinema, there is also space for themed programmes, retrospective sections of the biggest names in world cinema, cinema for children and teenagers, as well as various spaces for debate, workshops and events for the film industry.
As part of the festival, Pedro Lopes, General Director of Content at SP Televisão and SPi, was one of this year's guests to present the creative processes of the different series. Recognised for his work as a screenwriter on Gloria, Netflix's first original Portuguese series, Pedro Lopes led the presentation, offering those present a reflection on the work of the new Portuguese series.
By combining seeing with acting, Porto/Post/Doc presents itself as a festival of the present day and seeks, through cinema, to find ways of thinking that can change the world, starting with local relationships, thus engaging in dialogue with the city, the country and neighbouring regions. The festival occupies various venues in Porto, a historic and cosmopolitan city, the centre of a vibrant community from which to reimagine reality.
