SP Televisão's best of MAY

At SP Televisão, May was a very productive month, marked by the start of new projects and characters, major premieres, themed events and much more.

Recordings for the new telenovela, soon to be aired on SIC, began this May. Adapted from a Turkish original by Inês Gomes and Cândida Ribeiro, this story promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative, full of intrigue, passion and exciting twists and turns. The main characters are João Catarré, Joana Ribeiro, Victoria Guerra and Lourenço Ortigão.

In the telenovela LADY OF TIDES, currently being broadcast on SIC, Diogo Fernandes has joined the cast. The actor plays Rafael, Teresa and Manuel's son, the fruit of an old passion between the two, a character who will have a significant impact on the course of the story and on the Bettencourt family.

It was also in May, on the 3rd, that the 2nd season of the series THE MEDALISTS premiered on Opto, and with it came two new characters: Min Ji, a Chinese athlete who disappears after taking part in an international tournament, played by actress Beatriz Wong, and the young tennis player Dino, played by Gonçalo Ícaro, one of the winners of the casting carried out by SP Televisão.

Alongside all this news, SP Televisão organised a lunch to celebrate the Day of the Autonomous Region of the Azores on 20 May. This region, with its enchanting landscapes, is the location for the filming of the telenovela LADY OF TIDES and it was with great joy that we decided to honour the beautiful island of Terceira and all the other islands of the Azores.

Also this month, Pedro Lopes, SP Televisão's General Director of Content, was invited to join the panel of international judges for the annual Venice TV Award, which is a symbol of unity and collaboration in the television sector.
