WILD LAND adaptation premieres in Mexico in September

After crossing the Atlantic and arriving in Canada in 2022, the telenovela Wild Land, produced by SP Televisão and broadcast on SIC between 2019 and 2021, is now preparing to premiere in Mexico next September.

Originally written by Inês Gomes, the telenovela starring João Catarré and Mariana Monteiro has been adapted by scriptwriter Carmen Armendáriz and will be called El Precio de Amarte. "It's always a source of pride to know that we've written a good story that has aroused interest outside Portugal and that will be seen by other audiences", says Inês Gomes, who doesn't hide her interest in the Mexican version: "I'm curious to know how the adaptation is done and how it turns out. If it has good ratings and if the public will like it and be moved in the same way as the Portuguese public", concluded the Portuguese author, who confesses that she wasn't contacted by the scriptwriter who adapted this Portuguese telenovela.

In the Mexican version, this story of love and revenge will star Marcus Ornellas and Scarlet Gruber. "It's a story that's been done in Portugal, but it hasn't been done here in Mexico, so I feel that in a way it's something more innovative", said the Mexican actress to the news site Mag, who will also be making her debut as the lead.

Wild Land tells the story of Diogo (João Catarré), a decorated military man whose real name is Rodrigo, who spends his life planning the great mission of his life: to take revenge on the woman responsible for kidnapping him as a child and destroying his family. When he discovers that this woman is Eduarda (Maria João Luís), he returns to Vila Brava, his hometown, but falls in love with her daughter, Beatriz (Mariana Monteiro), with whom he had a friendly relationship as a child. Beatriz is married to Tiago (Renato Godinho), the soldier's biological brother and the only family he has left.

Named El Precio de Amarte in Mexico, it will premiere on 2 September at 9.30pm on Televisa Univision.
