Synopsis
HEART OF GOLD
When one’s worst enemy is the one we love...
Maria is willing to do any sacrifice for her daughter Catarina, but the most painful on yet will start when António, her former employer, on learning that he doesn’t have too much long to live, decides to make things right by including her in his will. With this decision, he intends to ensure that both mother and daughter don’t have to struggle any more and forget about their troubled past. This past holds a secret that most people are unaware of. Catarina is António’s granddaughter from a relationship between Maria and Henrique.
However, on finding out that her future will change after António’s eventual death, Catarina refuses to wait and decides to kill him, not knowing that she’s ending her own grandfather’s life. When Maria learns of this crime, she’s confronted with a choice that will forever change her life: will she become an accessory to her daughter or turn her in?
