A PROMESSA conquers the Portuguese and wins the ratings on opening night

Yesterday (18 June) was a day of celebration for SP Televisão, which opened its doors to SIC's Casa Feliz and revealed the backstage of the new telenovela A Promessa, with interviews with many of the actors in the cast. Lourenço Ortigão, Ana Padrão, João Catarré, Victoria Guerra, José Wallenstein, Bruna Quintas, Adriano Luz, Sofia Alves, Pedro Carmo, Custódia Gallego, Jorge Corrula, Paula Lobo Antunes and Rui Unas were some of the actors who chatted to Diana Chaves, João Baião, Ricardo Pereira and Andreia Rodrigues throughout the day. 

Towards the end of the day, with the national team kicking off the 2024 European Championship with a win against Czechia, the most eagerly awaited premiere of the evening was the telenovela A Promessa. The cast gathered at the SP Televisão studios to watch the match and the first episode of the show starring Victoria Guerra, João Catarré, Joana Ribeiro and Lourenço Ortigão. As well as the main characters, Ivo Lucas, Filipa Nascimento, Carla Andrino, Diana Marquês Guerra, Tiago Aldeia, Paula Magalhães, Joana Pais de Brito and Rita Ribeiro were some of the many names who attended the start of SIC's new fiction programme, produced by SP Televisão, which debuted in the lead.

On average, 1 million 295,900 viewers watched the first episode, or 13.4% average audience and 27% share.

Written by Inês Gomes and Cândida Ribeiro, A Promessa is an adaptation of an original Turkish series, whose story centres on the relationship between two families from different social strata, who end up getting involved in a secret agreement that will lead to conflicts and forbidden passions intertwined in a complex web.
